Radcliffe Orchestra
The orchestra consists mainly of members of the healthcare profession, including many from the John Radcliffe Hospital and other Oxford hospitals, and we have been rehearsing and performing there for over 26 years. There are three concerts a year and we often fill the Tingewick Hall with an enthusiastic audience. Each concert is in aid of one or more medical charities.
Our next performance is to be held on Saturday 3rd March, in the Tingewick Hall of the John Radcliffe hospital. We are delighted to welcome Will Orr as our conductor for this concert, and Jacqueline Knight as our soloist.
The music for this concert is:
| Overture to Nabucco | - | Verdi |
| 'Cello Concerto | - | Dvořák (soloist: Jacqueline Knight) |
| Symphony No. 9 New World | - | Dvořák |
All proceeds from the concert will go towards
Freedom From Torture (formerly known as The Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture) is a charity that provides direct clinical services to survivors of torture who arrive in the UK as well as striving to protect and promote their rights.
Ticket are £10 (£8 concessions), available from the Cairns Library on the JR site, Customer service desk (second floor), and on the door. Tickets include cheese and wine after the performance and all proceeds from the concert will go to the charity supported by the concert.
